COACHING WITH DRFC

Interested in coaching for a local nonprofit soccer club during late Spring/early Summer?

Delaware rising is looking for passionate and experience volunteer coaches! This is a great opportunity to engage in the Delaware community, be involved in an exciting program, get some sweet DRFC gear, and even gain coaching experience at a unique level of competition, while building your CV.

Time Commitment

We host tryouts during early December. We run 1-2 practices a week towards April with our adult players. As players finish up college/return in May, we run two practices a week early May through late July. With most games played on weekends throughout the central and northern Ohio area.

Responsibilities

- Plan, organize and direct activities involved with DRFC soccer program
- Direct and Organize two practice per week during the late spring/summer season
- Plan pre-season training sessions and friendlies
- Coach the Men’s/Women’s Soccer team in game competition
- Provide instruction and development for individual/team improvement, teach overall team and individual player strategies, and analyze athlete performance
- Construct competition schedule with approval of the Director of the Club
- Adhere to USSF rules and regulations for the sport
- Adhere to DRFC and affiliated leagues’ rules and expectations
- Communication between coaching staff
- Communication with players
- Participate in staff meetings / activities

Team Details

The Men’s First Team + Reserves is composed of around 35 players. The first team competes in NOSL, which is around 10 matches and begins early May and ends in early July with playoffs. The reserve team will compete in about 8 games in the CPL (coaches don’t have to attend reserve matches/a player-manager can be appointed).

The Women’s Team is composed of around 22 players. The league the women’s team will compete in is NOSL, will likely be around 8 - 10 matches, and begin in mid May and ends in early July.

Vision

Being able to offer high quality coaching is priority for the club. We hope to attract talented up-and-coming coaches by offering them a unique atmosphere, and chance to prove themselves before coaching at a higher level. Ultimately, our goal is to make these paid positions in the near future as the club approaches semi-professional soccer and revenue streams are built up to support sustainable operations as a nonprofit club.
